MECHANISM FOR IMPLEMENTING THE STRATEGY FOR "FINANCING COOPERATIVE INITIATIVES IN AFRICA (FCIA)"
The Cooperative Initiatives Financing Program in Africa (FCIA) is a joint initiative of the Pan-African Cooperative Conference
(CPC) and Biz Planners and Advisors (BPA) to facilitate the access of cooperatives in all sectors to the funds necessary for the development of their activities.
Indeed, the role and place of cooperatives in economic and social development in Africa and
in the world is no longer to demonstrate when we know that eight (8) people on the planet hold as much wealth as the poorest half of the population
according to the British NGO 0xfam in a report published in 2017 ahead of the Davos World Economic Forum. The current social fractures for which the African continent pays today
a heavy price, are not likely to favor the emergence of the economies of the continent, even if optimistic ideas see their emergence in the horizon of two decades.
